The Office of the Advocate for Children and Young People (ACYP) is an independent statutory appointment which reports directly into Parliament. ACYP advocates for and promotes the safety, welfare, wellbeing and voice of all children and young people aged 0-24 years in NSW.
ACYP works with schools and runs many activities that students and teachers can get involved in. Information about current activities can be found below.

Applications are open for the NSW Youth Advisory Council. Children and young people between 12-24 years of age living in NSW are encouraged to apply. Council members are particularly sought from diverse locations, backgrounds and life experiences. Applications close 1 March, 2020.

Youth Week is a time for young people between 12-24 years of age to celebrate and come together to get involved in activities designed for young people. Youth Week runs from 1 to 9 April 2020.

ACYP is inviting teachers to attend a free Registered Professional Development session on child rights. The session covers areas including: how children's rights translate into every day teaching practice; improving student engagement, participation and wellbeing and the history of the child rights movement. This free five hour session takes place in the Sydney CBD. Register your interest to attend future sessions via the link below.
Our Local is a new website that was called for and co-designed by children and young people to provide information about local and statewide opportunities, activities, services and events across NSW. We are encouraging principals and teachers to invite students to take a look at Our Local and to start using the platform to find things to do, and support when they need it.
