The ACYP 2017 Annual Report is for the reporting period of 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017.
The reporting year began with the official launch of the first three-year whole of government Strategic Plan for Children and Young People. More than 4,000 children and young people from across NSW engaged in consultations to inform the themes and directions of the Plan and NSW Government departments and agencies have been ready to adopt the framework that emerged from these consultations, reflecting support from all departments for the Plan.
Throughout the reporting year children and young people participated in the work of the office through their engagement in consultations, surveys, training, the Real NSW photo competition, events such as a Citizen Jury, IDEATION 2017-Create your Campaign, our work experience and internship programs and the NSW Youth Advisory Council.
Throughout the year the Office has also continued to provide advice on a wide range of NSW Government reports, papers and submissions, that impact on the lives of children and young people, we also made submissions and gave evidence to a number of Parliamentary and other inquiries.
