Submission for proposals to increase voter engagement, participation and confidence

The Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters held an inquiry from June 2024 to March 2025 into proposals to increase voter voter engagement, participation and confidence. This includes:

  • reforms to maintain confidence in the integrity of electoral processes;
  • strengthen the security and integrity of the electoral system;
  • reduce barriers to participation; implement options for technology assisted voting;
  • improve systems for political donations, electoral funding and party governance; and
  • amend electoral laws in relation to electoral funding and political parties.

ACYP made a written submission in August 2024. The NSW Advocate for Children and Young People, Ms Zoë Robinson appeared at the hearing, along with Ms Ellen Armfield and Mr Billy Bofinger.
