Fayra is 14 years old and lives in Gunnedah. She migrated to Australia two years ago from Indonesia. She joined the YAC to broaden her experience and strengthen her understanding of issues affecting young people.
She is passionate about history, art and empowering youth voices. One of her proudest achievements is winning first place in the 2024 Mental Health Foundation Australia National Consumers Art Competition, which deepened her interest in using art for advocacy and wellbeing.
Fayra applied for the YAC to help create meaningful change by promoting equal rights and supporting safe, inclusive communities where all young people feel heard, valued and able to speak up.
