NSW Government welcomes 12 new voices to the 2025 Youth Advisory Council

Twelve young leaders from across the state have been appointed to the 2025 Youth Advisory Council (YAC), highlighting the Advocate for Children and Young People and the NSW Government's steadfast commitment to integrating the voices and experiences of children and young people into its initiatives.

NSW Advocate for Children and Young People, Ms Zoë Robinson, continues to support the YAC's work across the state, importantly ensuring that they are given opportunities to influence policy development.

“I understand that young people want a say in the policies, laws, and services that shape their lives. This Council is one way the government facilitates that voice. YAC members have a genuine chance to transform NSW for the better, not just for themselves but for everyone,” Ms Robinson said.

Last month, the Minister for Youth, The Hon. Rose Jackson, attended the final meeting of the 2024 YAC, and looks forward to welcoming the 12 incoming YAC members. “The NSW Government is dedicated to creating better futures for young people across the state, and a key part of that is creating spaces to hear from young people who are championing their generation,” Minister Jackson stated.

“We know that by involving young people in decisions that impact them, we make the right decisions that will achieve outcomes where it matters most."

After a thorough recruitment process, the new Youth Advisory Council convened its first meeting last night online.
