18-year-old Kira is an Aboriginal woman from Dubbo who is currently attending an independent senior school. Shakira has a diverse range of lived experiences, making her a passionate advocate, dedicated to raising the voices of fellow young individuals in her community. She actively works with Leader Life, a local mentoring organisation, to empower others through mentorship. Shakira is excited to be a member of the 2024 YAC and is keen to work with and learn from the other members of the YAC. “I am thrilled to have this opportunity to be involved in the YAC. I will do my best to represent the interests of the young people in my area and I hope to make a positive impact to ensure I raise the voices of young people in my community”, said Kira. |
