Lara is 18 years old and lives in Tallawong. She has recently graduated from high school and is interested in studying medicine and architecture.
Since 2022, she has volunteered and participated in Taronga Zoo’s YATZ program to help educate the community on environmental sustainability within Australia.
With an interest in advocating for mental health and hidden disabilities, her goal is to identify specific areas of need and represent the voices of young people to achieve more targeted support for those who need it in her local community.
Lara applied for the YAC to give young people the confidence and support to advocate for their individual needs.
