On 26 July 2016, the NSW Government officially launched the first-ever legislated whole-of-government Strategic Plan for Children and Young People which will help ensure children and young people in NSW have opportunities to thrive, get the services they need and have their voice heard.
As part of developing the Plan, the Office of the Advocate of Children and Young People consulted with more than 4,000 children and young people right across NSW. The Plan aims to ensure children and young people in NSW are safe, connected, respected, have opportunities, are healthy and well, and have a voice in decisions that affect them.
The Office of the Advocate for Children and Young People wants to sincerely thank government departments and agencies, NGOs and civil society organisations and of course, all the children and young people, without whose input and guidance, this plan would have not been realised.
