The Advocate for Children and Young People, Mr Andrew Johnson, warmly welcomes the NSW Government’s response to the ‘Report into Reparations for the Stolen Generations’, Unfinished Business.

Nearly 150 school students from 40 schools have taken part in a Citizen’s Jury to decide whether sugary drinks should be banned from schools and sporting events. The verdict: 59% said yes and 41% voted no.

The NSW Advocate for Children and Young People, Andrew Johnson, will this morning launch, at Parliament House, a compilation of short videos that highlight when a child or young person’s voice was not heard at an important time in their life. They are based on stories of lived experience.

To celebrate Children’s Week, the Advocate for Children and Young People, Mr Andrew Johnson, will launch three new initiatives at Parliament House which elevate the voices of children and young people here in NSW.

Today, the NSW Advocate for Children and Young People, Andrew Johnson, will introduce a world-first new App utilising Augmented Reality technology to bring the voices of children and young people into any room, at anytime, anywhere in the state.

Today, the NSW Advocate for Children and Young People, Andrew Johnson, announced the winners of the REAL NSW Photo Competition at Parliament House. Hundreds of children and young people in NSW submitted photos to REAL NSW to show how they really want to be portrayed on websites, in magazines and in general.
