The Office of the Advocate for Children and Young People runs a free five hour course on Child Rights for NSW teachers. The course takes place in Sydney, NSW.

Completing Child Rights Training will contribute 5 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered PD addressing 6.2.2, 7.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

 


Course details

Through this free course, attendees will gain an understanding of:

  • how children’s rights translate into every day teaching practice
  • improving student engagement, participation and wellbeing
  • how to see everyday situations with a child rights lens and approach
  • the history of the child rights movement
  • the major rights embedded in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
  • methodologies of face-to-face consultations and polling.
This course runs for five hours and takes place in Sydney, CBD
